In Revelation 22:9 , Revelation 22:8 , identifies the one speaking to John as an angel. Young’s literal describes this being as a messenger. Revelation 22:8 YLT . Revelation 22:9
this being says he is a fellow servant and that he was of the prophets and of those who keep the words of this scroll or book, referring to the book of Revelation. We know that this was a vision of the future as the being Speaking to John was a glorified being, but was he an angel or a glorified human being ? Well, angels have no need to keep the words of the Revelation scroll. Angels are not fellow servants or fellow prophets. I think this being was a glorified human just as are the 24 elders in Revelation 4:4 YLT . The saints are in white and have a crown and so are these elders . What do you think ?
 
Looking at the verses between Rev 21:9 to the end of Revelation, all that is spoken up until 22:8 were by "one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues" described in Rev 21:9. The translators, I suppose, were attempting to add clarity to chapter 22 by changing the word "he" into "the angel."

Then, in verse 22:6, we are told that "And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel ." Simply put, I see only a "messenger" who then speaks for Yeshua. The indication which follows contains the messenger's declaration that he is "I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets,."

Considering that this messenger is one of the seven angels (as stated in 21:9), I have no inclination to think he was a glorified human being.

Now this is the kind of communication that more here need to join. It is through the sharing of ideas and the peaceful discussion of them in love that is the fertile ground of growth.

I think it is an angel as said in Revelation 1:1 "This is the revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants what must soon come to pass. He made it known by sending His angel to His servant John,"

And I think angels are very interested in all words of the scrolls: 1 Peter 1:10-12 in Berean Study Bible says: "Concerning this salvation, the prophets who foretold the grace to come to you searched and investigated carefully, 11 trying to determine the time and setting to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow. 12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, when they foretold the things now announced by those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things."
Besides that Hebrews 1:14 says: "Are not the angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?"
And also in the angels play a significant part in the end times.
Matthew 13:39 and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels."
Just some of my thoughts.

Very good Diana S. Thank you for your comment. How about the 24 elders with the crowns , dressed in white ? Who do you think they may be ?
 
Just seeing this now LeeB. Yes the 24 elders have crowns and Revelation 11:16 says they sit on their thrones before God and fell down and worshipped him...
Revelation 7:11 says: "All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and they bowed their heads before the throne and worshipped God".
They are not angels, but I guess other heavenly beings with an overseeing task, so to speak?
The Bible also speaks about a heavenly council in Psalms 89:6 For who in the skies can compare with the LORD? Who among the heavenly beings is like the LORD? 7 In the council of the holy ones, GOD is greatly feared., and awesome above all wo surround Him. Could it be these heavenly beings are in a council like this?
 
Psalm 89:7NKJV Psalm 82:1,6,7,8 John 10:34,35,36 If HE (GOD) called them gods to whom the word of GOD came, (humans) , it is the destiny of Christians to become an Elohim, a god. Psalm 89:3,4

Revelation 5:5 the elder spoke with John. Later the same elder spoke these words, Revelation 19:9 , then John made a mistake in worshiping this elder but the elder said, Revelation 19:10 , this elder said he was a fellow servant, with you and your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. This elder was formerly a human being as we must remember this was a far into the future vision. If this elder, was one of the 24, then all of them were former humans but now in the future glorified.

There is also. Revelation 7:13 Revelation 4:4 is directly tied to, 1 Peter 5:4 2 Timothy 4:8 James 1:12 Revelation 3:11 Colossians 3:4 and many more.

In the resurrection each glorified saint will receive a degree of glory, 1 Corinthians 15:41,42 , Jesus gives insight into this in the parable of the talents, Matthew 25:14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30 Luke 19:11-27 instead of talents there are Mina’s but additional information is provided, cities were the reward, cities the servants would rule over in the millennium.

In summary, the 24 elders were former human beings that in this future time are now glorified spirits before the throne of GOD. Revelation 7:15 The glory given them in this honor was determined by how much they yielded to the Holy Spirit when they were human, they had more talents, more Mina’s, they were given a greater glory as the sun has greater glory than the moon.
