Watchtower says not to literally help brothers with good deeds (par. 9) Jesus describes, but to preach (women see illustration), give money, even children (Illustration) work hard for free (slave for the borg)) specially in building ( because they are now a real estate company) and to OBEY - par 9 and 17
And there is the Fear factor in par 18 - destruction, Great Tribulation,Armageddon
.

If they are not supposed to help fellow brothers they certainly do not do charity to help others . Watchtower is doing nothing about charity. The money goes in one direction only. To the 'Organization'.

Translator's choice of word seems to be off. The rest of the chapter does not talk about those in poverty. It refers to more the be "the weak" or "the helpless."

I guess the Watchtower leaders don't consider their CSA victims to be "weak" or "helpless" enough to help.

NIV says

PSALMS 41

For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1Blessed are those who have regard for the weak;
the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.
