How do narcissists and cult leaders get people under their control? How can you know if you are connected with someone who is unhealthy for you and is just using you? I break this down in this first of three videos about narcissistic relationships.

EXACTLY! - when I was still 'in'-(doctrinated)(for 38 years), I could not understand why people would join a cult. Now I know we did not join a cult, because we were being thouroughly deceived with special mind controlling techniques and lied to. From the first moment.

She also quotes Prof. Margaret Singer, a cult expert, who taught at UC Berkeley: "When you're involved in a cult, you learn to deny the evidence of your senses". What does that mean: "You learn to NOT notice what you NEED to notice, that's happening around you, that could keep you safe and help you realize the true nature of the orgaization you're involved in".

Those who are deceived do not know they are. When I was in the WCG I was deceived. The catalyst that led to my awakening was when the “changes” came that contradicted the teachings of Armstrong. It was then that Gods Spirit began to work with me but was not yet in me. God taught me that both views were wrong and gave me the truth. This was my calling and I answered by obeying what God revealed rather than what men were teaching.
