Today April 20, 2025 is Easter Sunday the day the vast majority of the professing world thinks Jesus was raised from the dead at sunrise. This belief is based on pure carnal thinking. The last week of the life of Christ as far as the timing of the events that transpired cannot be understood unless you have a good knowledge and understanding of the Israelite holy days.
Passover that week fell on a Wednesday. There is always a full moon on the Passover. People of the world keep thinking that Passover begins on the 15th day of Nisan, they are incorrect, the 14th day was the Passover , Numbers 28:16 and the 15th day was a high Sabbath, the first day of unleavened bread. Numbers 28:17 Passover was the preparation day for the 15th the first day of unleavened bread. Passover is not a holy day or annual Sabbath. The 15th was the high day that the Jews did not want the bodies of the crucified on the crosses so on Passover Joseph of Arimathea had to hurry to bury Jesus before sundown.
Thursday then was the high day Sabbath and the women had to rest on that day but the next day , Friday , the women could buy and prepare the spices for the body of Jesus. This Friday was the preparation day for the WEEKLY SABBATH which the women rested According to the commandment, the 4th of the Ten Commandments. Then very late on the weekly Sabbath, before it was over, the women came to the tomb and Christ had already risen. This was the fulfillment of the only sign Jesus gave that he was the messiah. Three days and three nights in the tomb. From late Wednesday to late Saturday would be 3 days and 3 nights. The carnal professing false Christian world does not understand any of this.
Without the knowledge of the ancient Israelite holy days it is nearly impossible to understand just when events took place in that last week of the life of Jesus Christ. Also, Jesus fulfilled all the symbolism of all the holy days on the exact day of each one. Luke 24:44 Matthew 5:17 Hebrews 10:1 says “year after year” are the sacrifices on the yearly feast days or annual Sabbaths or holy days . All of these ancient rituals had no substance, no fulfillment in reality, the substance, the fulfillment and reality was Christ. Once these days were fulfilled by Jesus then they were no longer kept, Hebrews 10:1,2 Christians do not keep these days because they have been fulfilled. To continue keeping them is to deny their fulfillment. The annual holy days were the annual sacrifices. This is what Israel did on all these days, they sacrificed animals. These days were a reminder of Israel’s sins and had no forgiveness for them. Hebrews 10:4 There are still people today that keep these days as well as other parts of the law of Moses. When they do this this they alienate themselves from Christ. Galatians 5:4
I kept all these days and much of the law when I was in the Worldwide Church of GOD. In the WCG we picked out what parts of the law we decided to keep and eliminated the rest but if anyone keeps the law the must keep it all and to break only one point of it makes you guilty of breaking it all. James 2:10 The law is not abolished and is in full force upon everyone who is not in Christ. Romans 3,19 Galatians 3:10,11,12,22,23,24
Being in the law while claiming grace is mixing the two covenants together and doing this voids both. Your choice is Moses or Jesus. John 1:17
