The purpose of this website is to “contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 1:3), especially by defending the first article of the Christian faith, that there is one God, the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor 8:6). The goal in all this is to glorify God, and help His people better understand what God has revealed about Himself and His Son Jesus Christ.

The Christian doctrine promoted by this site is unitarianism, which is defined by the simple confession that the one God is one person, the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that Jesus is the human Son and Christ of God.
The name of this site, ‘Contra Modalism’, mean ‘Against Modalism’, as the original aim of this site is oppose this serious and prevalent heresy.
Modalism is the belief that the one God is one person who exists or manifests himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This was condemned by the early church as a denial of the Christian faith, because by making the Son out to be the same person, or rational individual being, as the Father, Modalism denies the real existence of God’s only-begotten Son altogether, making the Son the Father and the Father the Son. Since the latter half of the fourth century, most (but not all) trinitarianism has really been a variation of this heresy, teaching that Jesus is not the Son of the one God, but rather is the one God Himself.
