Public Jehovah’s Witnesses cancel in-person conventions worldwide, will stream online in 100 languages

Over the summer, I watched the assembly. They cut out ALL prayer in the videos. Not one prayer to Jehovah. I asked a JW couple why the governing body stopped praying at the assemblies... no answer of course. I thought, "Soon, they will cut God right out of their talks." Which is happening. They'd rather discuss the man-made rules and regulations... their own policies than teach the Word.

When I would record at meetings several brothers told me never to record prayers - I never understood why - perhaps there is an unwritten rule to not record prayers - like it's disrespectful or something? 🤷‍♀️
That could be, Lori. Good point. It's a shame for those who are disabled and can not sit or go to an assembly. For years before Covid, brothers and sisters would audio record for me and I heard the prayers. I believe prayer is most important, especially in a group setting. All other Christian videos I watch, pray to God, except for the JWs. Sad that they don't think we all need prayer. Thanks for that view.

Could this be a test? Why do I have the feeling that conventions won’t be the only gatherings that go virtual in the future? Maybe not all meetings but what about those for congregation members that had their congregations closed In rural areas, are ill and are too far from another hall to attend. Maybe or maybe not. We will have to just wait and see.
