This discussion has been ongoing at least since near to the end of the first century. In this article I will not be able to convince anyone to any particular point of view. As the old saying goes, he convinced against his will is of the same opinion still. So why do I even write ? I write because others here give their two cents so here is mine.
Isaiah 43:10 Here through the prophet Isaiah GOD says there was no GOD before HIM and no GOD after HIM. Isaiah 45:5 Again GOD confirms that HE is the only GOD, there is no other.
There are many other scriptures in the old covenant that say the same thing. What about the new covenant ? John 17:3 The only true GOD Jesus said was his FATHER. 1 John 5:20 Jesus came to give us the understanding that we may know HIM (the FATHER) who is true. That we are in the FATHER and in HIS son. The “HE” is the true GOD is referring to the FATHER not Jesus. 1 John 1:2,3 Our fellowship is with the FATHER and HIS son Jesus the messiah, you have the one true GOD here and the son who is the messiah. Matthew 11:27 Jesus and the FATHER know each other and only the son, Jesus, could reveal the FATHER. It is extremely obvious that there are two beings here; the FATHER, or only true GOD, and the FATHERS son who is the messiah. A true Christian knows this , John 17:25 Paul was inspired to write this, 1 Corinthians 8:6 For Christians there is only one GOD, the FATHER. Jesus is not the FATHER he is the messiah. Paul also wrote, Ephesians 4:5,6 One GOD and FATHER of all and it isn’t Jesus. Malachi said, Malachi 2:10 Again, one FATHER, one GOD This theme is throughout the Bible. Scriptures that are used to attempt to prove something otherwise are found to be bad translations or deliberate alterations by ungodly evil Satanically inspired men.
In the final analysis people will believe whatever they want and the one true GOD will allow this as HE has given us free will.
When one considers the scriptures I provided with the list of those used to support an opposing view there is a very obvious contradiction, the word of GOD is broken. John 10:35 “broken” is the Greek word “iuo” in Strongs Concordance article #3089 it literally means; to loose, release, dissolve, break or destroy. This is saying that the scriptures cannot contradict each other. If we have a belief that does then it is wrong.
To prove the right or wrong of scripture one needs to conduct a very diligent study realizing that there are bad translations and that evil men did indeed alter scripture to support a lie. After doing this there is a hope that the truth will be revealed.
Something better than all of this is to be connected to GOD through Jesus by the power of GODS HOLY SPIRIT that Jesus said would restore all things, Matthew 17:12. the Elijah to come. Only in this way can the truth be found even if scripture has been tainted.
The many pastors and ministers of the churches claim they do this but Jesus disagrees, John 6:45 Jesus did not say that to learn from the FATHER you must go to some man who thinks he is a pastor or minister. Jesus is THE ONLY mediator between the one true GOD and humanity. 1 Timothy 2:5 GOD is not the mediator between GOD and man , the man Jesus Christ was. If there is ONLY ONE mediator then these pastors and preachers are not it.
Either way you look at this question, who and what is GOD , and “evidence “ is provided to support differing views, this breaks GODS word, the scriptures, to pieces, to smithereens. We might as well throw our bibles in the trash and become atheists. The fact is that somebody is wrong and someone is right, but who ? This battle will rage on until Christ returns and only then we will find the truth of the matter.
