"I am always always always tempted to say: Hi everyone, my name is Tricia and I grew up in a doomsday apocalyptic cult" - Join host and former WCG member Dr. Tricia Jenkins.

Herbert Armstrong was a false Apostle a deceitful worker that led thousands of people into the law. The law was a shadow of the good things to come, all it needed was the light of Christ. The law was to serve as a schoolmaster to lead us to Christ. A schoolmaster has a lesson to teach, it was to show us our sins and the need to repent. The law was indeed a yoke of bondage to sin and death and if it does lead one to Christ then all these lessons are learned. This yoke if used lawfully is good. 1 Timothy 1:8 It is good to bear this yoke in our youth. Lamentations 3:27 after all the law is holy, just and good if it is used the way GOD intended. Romans 7:12 If the law was designed by GOD to lead you to Christ then you should love that law for doing so just as king David did. Psalm 119:97 When I was in the WCG I sang the Psalms but was ignorant as to their meaning, I was deceived because I used the law incorrectly to justify myself by doing the works like keeping the Sabbath, the holy days, unclean meats thinking I was a Christian when I was not. I did not have the Holy Spirit, I was not converted and neither was any one else. GOD called me out of all of that and taught me why HE gave HIS law and granted me repentance, access to forgiveness and just like those Jews on the day of Pentecost I was cut to the heart, circumcised in heart and I needed to know what I should do and the answer for me was the same as it was with them, Acts 2:37,38,39 So that is what I and several other ex WCG people did. We got into a swimming pool together and asked GOD to stretch HIS hands from heaven and baptize us in HIS sons name and upon coming up out of the water give us HIS Holy Spirit. After this our growth exploded and GOD through Christ taught us without the involvement of any human ministry. We continue to this day thankful that GOD drew us to HIS son by using the schoolmaster of HIS law. The question then is why go through an experience like we all did in the WCG but fail to learn the lessons from it ? Rather than let a root of bitterness spring up try to reexamine what happened to you in a different light. I am thankful for GODS law because it led me to Christ. Now that I am in Christ that law has done its part and I say goodby to the law and hello to Christ and now actually fulfill the intent of the law by the love of GOD which is the fulfillment of the law. The Ten Commandments are replaced by the two Christ gave us and therefore we establish the law. I could tell some horror stories too about being in Worldwide but those things were not done by GOD or HIS law, they were done by misguided ministers of Satan upon a people that fell for it in their ignorance.

I would like to add that there is an advantage for someone who prior to being a Christian was heavily involved in the law. Romans 3:1,2 These people had the oracles of GOD. They knew what it was to be a slave to sin under the law and come into the freedom that is in Christ. The law is what all people need saved from but yet so many have never really been under it. I do realize that all humanity is indeed under the law of sin and death until GOD calls and chooses them, Romans 3:9,19 when I say under the law I mean actually practicing it just as the Jews today do. This is why Paul taught the gentiles about the law , not that they should keep its works but learn what it is that they needed to be saved from. The law is indeed very good if used the way GOD intended. 1 Timothy 1:8

Yes, and isn't it sad that people who assume the title of Christian spend a great deal of effort to construct a 10-Commandment sign everywhere? I dare suggest that they don't get any attention except as a sign of holiness.
