To Love and praise the LORD through prayer, worship, and studying His words. To honor the day He set aside from creation, thank Him for our strength and endurance, and the six days of our livelihood.

Observing the Sabbath shows our commitment to honor and worship God and keep our covenants. It will bring us closer to the Lord and to our family. It will give us an eternal perspective and spiritual strength. The Sabbath also allows us to rest from our physical labors and worship the Lord.

The weekly Sabbath was only a physical rest, not spiritual. Christ is Lord-of the Sabbath and his rest is spiritual. It is a rest, a stopping of working in the law that you can never fulfill, never keep, for all have sinned and the law will not provide salvation. Here is the rest, the Sabbath, that Jesus gives, Matthew 11:28,29 Why work to keep a law that only kills you for the letter kills it is the spirit that gives life. 2 Corinthians 3:6 The weekly Sabbath was a holy day but the Sabbath in Christ is everyday. Your life becomes holy. We are talking about the difference between physical and spiritual. All the law was only a shadow of what Jesus did. Hebrews 10:1 Every weekly Sabbath two year old lambs were sacrificed, one in the morning and one in the evening. These lambs symbolized Christ, they were only a shadow and symbolic.

Jesus fulfilled the symbolism of the Sabbath and to continue to keep the old covenant version is to deny the fulfillment. Christians do not keep ancient Israelite days that looked forward to the messiah because Jesus was here, he lived and fulfilled all the law Moses, ALL OF IT. John 1:17 Romans 6:14

When I was in the Worldwide Church of GOD I kept the law to a degree that no one here at Simply Christian ever dreamed of. I kept the law better than most Jews. After 10 years GOD opened my mind to understand the lessons of the schoolmaster. I have an article here titled, “Lamentations 3:27 Bearing the yoke in your youth” . I love GODS law because in me it performed what it was given for. I saw the shadows of law shined on by the light of Christ and I understood the symbolism and saw how Jesus fulfilled the law, with GODS LOVE. Romans 13:10 Keeping the law after Christ did what he did denies Christ. Galatians 5:1,2,3,4,5,6. I encourage everyone to study the law and compare it to the work of Christ. We have to escape the laws just condemnation to everlasting death by Jesus Christ.
