Jesus came to fulfill the the law, Matthew 5:17 how did Jesus fulfill the law ? Romans 13:8-13 This love is not human level love but GODS love, Romans 5:5 GODS love is far above what humans are capable of but a portion of this love comes to us by the Holy Spirit.
To love with GODS love covers numerous circumstances in our spiritual life, it is a very broad principle because it fulfills all of what the law contained. Look at the qualities GODS love has; patience, kindness, no envy, no boasting, not proud, not rude, not self seeking, not easily angered, holds no grudges, has no pleasure in evil, rejoices in the truth. It bears, believes, hopes and endures all things. Without this GODLY love we are nothing and we will not be in the kingdom of GOD. Even though scripture may not directly address every possibility of violating GODS love is not a logically sound reasoning for justifying any type of behavior . One must ask in truth, is what I say, think or do GODS love. In act 1 scene 3 of Hamlet, Polonius advises his son saying, “to thine own self be true”. When you are not true to yourself how can you be true to GOD ? People can be offended by many things and as a Christian if we become aware of them we should not do or say them as offending in this way is not GODS love. Jesus offended many but with the truth, the truth will either offend you or set you free. Accidentally offending is excusable but intentionally offending is sin. If my telling someone the trinity is false it may offend them or if I expose the JW’s for what they are it will offend them. The question then becomes what is the truth so that when I speak I am justified even though I may offend. John 18:37 In the world there are many who lay claim to the truth but with them there are different versions and all cannot be right but all can be wrong. The church is not of this world anymore than Christ was. Christ was the first of a new creation and we part of it in him. We received truth by divine revelation from the Holy Spirit, we are taught of GOD. The gift of spiritual discernment enables us to identify spirits and their origin, a sort of spiritual sixth sense, that preserves the truth among us so that we cannot be deceived and in our interactions with others of the faith believe the same things. Therefore hold up into the light of GODS love any questionable thing that needs addressed and that light will show the truth.
