It is interesting to me that, even though scripture tells us that God has secret things, and there are mysteries that are kept from some; and even the Apostle Paul speaks of having information that he cannot reveal as people are not able to receive it, so many since the first century claim to have been given the secrets and the mysteries have been solved for them. I'm pretty sure that some were. I'm also certain that some of them were false.
Among the gnostic crowd were those who claimed to have discovered the secret - that despite the passages in scripture which denied it - that Jesus is God. Yes, Gnosticism exists today.
The issue is that I think the only ones who knew which people to given those truths were the ones who received them. Those who only think they were went on to create problems for thousands of years. I don't think that problem has been dealt with yet. One day, it will be removed.
However, false doctrines still serve to split people, divide them from truth, and create battles between those who do not yet know the true Father and His Son. Religion has put a wall up between those people so that we tear down bridges and put up higher walls. They spend so much time fighting against the others (who think that they know the truth) that they don't search the scriptures and don't ask God to teach them while shunning the validation from God. It is a horrible spiral that serves Satan's purpose very well.
However, Yahweh and Yeshua already knew all this. Their plans will succeed. In God's time, His plan will come to succeed. Our time should be spent allowing ourselves to recognize that nearly everything we have learned from man deserves reinvestigation.
