This is a great question and it was posted on December 25! Well played.

I've heard August or September as Jesus actual birth date.

I wish there were more replies for such a good topic.

Believer22, there is no command or obligation anywhere in scripture to observe the birth of Jesus. I am very thankful that Jesus was born however it is his death that is the focus of the gospel and his resurrection and ascension. Jesus is the fulfillment of the Passover lamb. Death passes over Christians because of his blood sacrifice that covers our sins. Hebrews 9:22 A baby did not die for us, preach the gospel to us and does not judge us, a man did, who is now seated at the right hand of God.

Jesus was born 6 months after John the Baptist, who was born in the spring , March/ April , this would place the birth of Messiah September/October sometime during a holy day of the Jews. It was yet warm outside in September/October and the shepherds could still tend to their flocks outside but in December the sheep were inside due to cold weather. During the Jewish holy days thousands of Jews travelled to the area around and in Jerusalem to keep the feast as commanded by the Law of Moses. This is why there was no room at the inn. According to some scholars the taxing ordered by Caesar Augustus took place during the fall harvest both Joseph and Mary traveled to Bethlehem to register, Luke 2:3 .

Right on! I agree with you. It feels great to be talking the truth about when Jesus was actually born, backed up with solid facts. Blessings.
