What was it about the life of Jesus that was so valuable that God would accept the sacrifice of his life as payment for the sins of all humanity, past, present and future ? It helps to think about what God values in a life, things like love, righteousness and impeccability.
We know that God did not die for us but it would require a life similar to HIS own to be worthy of a payment of such magnitude.
An angel could never qualify because when God first created angels they had free will and were able to sin, a third of them did. Angels ,in this way , were not like God who has in eternity been incapable of sin. The one sacrificed would have to be incapable of sin from the beginning of life, from the womb. Psalm 22:10 , Isaiah 49:1 , John 6:27 , John 10:30 , John 5:23 . In Jesus, God created an image of Himself , Colossians 1:15 , Hebrews 1:3 , John 14:9 . Because of Jesus being created in the image of God many think Jesus is God but this false idea would mean that all humans will become Yahweh too because we are being recreated to be in the mage of Jesus , 2 Corinthians 3:18 , John 17:22 , Romans 8:29 . The triune God teaching says that only the sacrifice of God the Son would be valuable enough to pay for the sins of all people. Isaiah 53:10 The JW’s say Jesus was the archangel Michael. All this confusion is due to the refusal of many to believe that the man Jesus was indeed an exact copy of the divine nature that we hope to someday partake of. 2 Peter 1:4 , Ephesians 4:24 . Jesus was the first born of many brethren, he was born of God, of his Father and this is what our hope is.
