General TRANSLATIONS OF SCRIPTURE

I would like to address a very serious problem with certain translations of the scripture. When trying to study scripture all the various translations use different words in many places and sometimes they hinder the process. A confusion over different words can produce misconceptions and alter the true meaning. Concordances do not exist for every translation but for a few they do but a concordance for one translation will not work with another because of the use of different wording. This becomes a serious problem when studying as it makes it very difficult to trace a word and its meaning.

I am aware that the King James is frowned upon by many but I will take it over many other translations for this very reason even though it has errors you can at least trace words using a Strongs Concordance. The verse in Isaiah that I used in the article "Here a little there a little" , Isaiah 28:10 , is absolutely horrible, blah, blah, blah, this is glossolalia not understandable speech. I also like the new King James. When we have the Holy Spirit we are enabled by that spirit to overcome any errors in translations else it would show that GOD is unable to overcome that problem but all things are possible with GOD.

The King James is written in Shakespearean English, a beautiful language as proven by how the works of William Shakespeare are highly regarded. An example of how the power of words can be greatly diminished is when reading , 2 Peter 2:18KJV , in the King James and comparing it with the LEB 2 Peter 2:18 (The LEB translation may still be used even though I specified KJV)
Great swelling words of emptiness to me has power that hits the mind hard making quite an impression. Each of us will have our own preference in translations . This is only a reminder to be careful in what you choose.

Confounding truth by amending the original meaning of scripture has been a successful technique of the deceiver to lead people astray. If we pair that control of scripture with the dark hearts of people, we end up with the environment that we live in now.

For those years I lead small group studies, I avoided the KJV even though I was in a church that solely used the KJV. When I realized that the people in those groups had difficulty understanding it, I went with a more understandable version. Even then, people had to be shown how to search. The Strong's dictionary is actually one of "this is what the KJV translators believed the word meant" book. I encouraged the people to also search Vine's and Thayer's to look for meaning.

When the Dead Sea Scrolls were studied, it was found that there were misunderstood words in the KJV. Still, there are people who will use nothing else. They are adamant that it is the only "true" bible.

The truth does not come from a translation. It comes from time, effort, study, and answered prayers. Since most are rather lazy and want to be spoon-fed their doctrines. there are few who find truth. Even with the translations I use, I still find flaws in the passages. It is not because I am so smart, because I am not. I still seek truth.

Scripture tells about those who received wisdom from God without a bible. I would like to be among them.
