What is Transhumanism and is it compatible with a Christian worldview?

Transhumanism is a movement that advocates for the use of advanced technologies to enhance human physical, mental, and emotional capabilities, aiming to transcend biological limitations. It seeks to improve human health, extend lifespan, and potentially achieve immortality through innovations like genetic engineering, artificial intelligence, and mind uploading. Ultimately, transhumanism envisions a future where humans evolve into a "post-human" state with superhuman abilities. How should we as Christians respond to such an ideology?

Hi Kaironaut,

Thanks for the links.
Long story short, it is not a sin to seek to improve ourselves physically, but to do it at the expense of others of our essence and integrity and God-given directives will be to our detriment.

By the way, our bodies actually run on electricity, which means it is reasonable to seek as much electricity from food, earth, water and sun.

I agree. Looking after our health is perfectly normal. I also agree that in doing so we cannot be harming others. Metabolic health or trans humanoids won't get us peace in the world though. Still need Jesus.

The only reason I mentioned metabolic health is that it relates to a segment in the 2nd video — long life and enduring health.
