Devotional This Thanksgiving, follow Abraham Lincoln’s lead: thank God—and repent

Isn't this interesting? Lincoln wrote:

“It is peculiarly fit for us to recognize the hand of God in this terrible visitation [the Civil War], and in sorrowful remembrance of our own faults and crimes as a nation and as individuals to humble ourselves before Him and to pray for His mercy.

So he says God caused him to ignore the will of the sovereign states and the U.S. Constitution and force the Civil War on the southern states. He made the Federal Government superior to the individual states. We have had a very difficult time overcoming that since then.

Good morning. How are you all? Yes, It has been a struggle since Adam, but having more Faith each day is worthwhile.

I find myself asking Yahweh often to "more faith." However, it appears that, instead, He gives me more understanding. The deceptions that humans have accepted as truth still frustrate me, but understanding His future plans give me some peace. Sometimes, I feel like that one sock left in the dryer that sits there until someone finds that he is missing a sock. I am "left behind" by those who have accepted the deceptions of Satan and continue to march to the beat of his drum.

But, my faith tells me to be still and know that Yahweh is the one true God, and Yeshua is still fulfilling His purpose for the Father.

Good morning, I was thinking to myself about what you are saying, https://ernestangley.org/read/article/why_god_told_us_to_contend_for_the_faith1#:~:text=Jesus came to set captives, saints in Old Testament days.
