My notes on Ephesians 3v18-19:
"I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of God that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."
The breadth - the gospel is for the whole world, the length - that God did not spare his own son, the height - that we can rise to eternal life, the depth - that God reaches the worst of sinners..... and the reward that we can be "filled with all the fullness of God" - WOW! We don't have to live this life beset with fears and depression, we can know God and have His mind, seeing everything in a new perspective, a perspective that means we can love the most unlovely and that our lives can be fruitful beyond our imagination. Who wouldn't want that? [Galatians 5] Gives us a clue as to the difference that makes... from being ruled by our desire for fleshly indulgence and all that's potential for negative consequences (eg disastrous relationships, unwanted pregnancy, addictions, health problems, fears....) to being filled with His Spirit and experiencing Love, Joy, Peace, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control, Kindness and Forbearance. And the hope of eternal life in heaven.
