The Old Testament provides depth and context to the New Testament. The New Testament provides a close up, timely portrait of the God we experience over centuries in the Old. Each Testament defers to the other, and supports the other’s testimony about the Love of God. The depth of these combined is much richer than either could be in isolation.

The old covenant was a shadow of the new covenant. It used symbolism and carnal works to point to the reality that would be Christ. Hebrews 10:1 Hebrews 9:10
The new covenant is not like the old. Jeremiah 31:31,32
The love of GOD or agape, can only come by the Holy Spirit of thr FATHER. If the old covenant could have brought salvation there would be no need for a new covenant. Hebrews 8:7 Jesus came and brought light into the world that exposed the evil in humanity underhe law as Jesus magnified the the law to include the the thoughts and intents of the human spirit. Isaiah 42:21 NKJ . The law shows humanity their problem but only the new covenant provides the answer.
