General THE LESSON OF THE STORY OF UZZAH

In 2 Samuel there is recorded for us the account of Uzzah. This story contains extremely important information about how the law works and how when compared to grace is the entire reason why Christians are not under the law. 2 Samuel 6:1,2,3,4,5 explains what was going on that led to what happened to Uzzah. 2 Samuel 6:6,7 explains why Uzzah touched the ark, the oxen stumbled and the ark no doubt tilted as if to fall off the cart that was carrying it. Uzzah reacted by reaching out and taking hold of the ark and GOD struck him down and killed him for his breaking the law. Numbers 4:15 Exodus 25:12,13,14 Numbers 7:9 If you look up the word used to describe Uzzahs action you may see error, irreverent act, lack of respect however if you look up Strongs article H7944 that informs us that Uzzahs action was not with any evil intent. A Question comes to mind that why would Uzzah die because the obvious intent of his heart was to protect the ark from damage but King David committed both adultery and murder but was not stoned to death as the law demanded but was forgiven. Psalm 51 is the account of David’s sincere and humble repentance and GOD obviously forgave David but why did GOD kill Uzzah ? Uzzah was under the law, he did not have the Holy Spirit, he could not repent and the law shows no mercy. Hebrews 10:28 The law does not care about the thoughts and intents of the heart, the motive Uzzah had was good but that did not matter, Uzzah died. This shows that the law was only concerned with the outward acts and words of the flesh but totally ignores the spirit , the inner thoughts and intents of the heart. Uzzah was under the old covenant law but David was a Christian and had access by the Holy Spirit to grace and forgiveness upon sincere repentance. Psalm 51:11 David had the Holy Spirit and prayed that GOD would not take HIS spirit from him. This is the reason why Uzzah died but David lived. This story about Uzzah teaches this. After David saw what happened to Uzzah and understanding just what I have explained his response was, 2 Samuel 6:8,9
Anyone who places themselves under the law is an Uzzah. Anyone that is brought into the new covenant of grace is a David. A man after GODS own heart.

I like this comparison between "Under the Law" and "Under Grace." The importance of understanding this is critical. Thanks.

You are blessed with all the saints because you understand. There are many that do not.

Jesus used a metaphor to teach us about the law. Law keepers are like a whitened sepulcher appearing beautiful on the outside but inside full of dead men’s bones. The law could deter men from outward actions and words because they feared death if caught but inside, in their spirit, they really wanted to do the sin but since the law could not address the thoughts and intents of the human spirit they would outwardly appear righteous but inside were dead.

And while we are in a ministry school, we get full of the self-righteous attitude and pass it on to others while confirming to them that they now know the truth. If we only had the faith and understanding that the school is really a place to determine the issues that we should turn over to Yahweh to confirm instead of our test scores. It is a terrible trap to be in.

The law is one of many things people do not understand. Some think it’s totally abolished. Some think we only keep certain parts and toss the rest. The law, the old covenant, is like the new covenant, both demand total adherence and commitment. The old serves to condemn the world but the new to save it. Just as with trinitarians , law keepers will usually not change no matter how many scriptures you give them.
Law keepers are modern day Galatians, they want to keep the law but do not hear what the law says, Galatians 4:21 Neither those who say the law was abolished or those who butcher it by tossing out what they don’t like understand the law and why it was given. Both are wrong and both do not know why and both will never admit it so both are lost.

It is really sad when family members won't even discuss it. It's as if I am speaking Greek. I am thinking that they believe I am lost or possessed by Satan. I guess the draw of being among the majority crowd is so strong that they go deaf to anything contrary to what the denomination claims is true. I have discovered that the one question that sets their hair on fire is "How do you know that you are correct?"

You are speaking to them in a language that they can’t understand, a spiritual language and their response toward you is natural because they cannot hear you. This is like the reverse of tongues. In this current evil age GOD actually keeps people from the truth and uses Satan to do it. This is because if they were called and chosen now they would fail and GOD, who knows this, will call them later, at sometime after Christ returns, when Satan and his angels are locked up. Everyone will have opportunity just not all at the same time. I feel confident that GOD Will provide for your unconverted loved ones just as HE will mine. There is now a veil over all the nations that prevents them from knowing the truth. Only when GOD calls and chooses a person is this veil lifted.

Believing this is the only resource I have to keep me from shaking him like a teddy bear.

Sometimes you have to love (agape) people from a distance like I do with my sister and brother in law.
