Meh. All married spouses criticize each other & are defensive, at some point or another. I agree that stonewalling & having contempt are to be avoided and are indicators of narcissism. However, there's more than 4. I went over this for a couple days with a co-worker years ago. She was like, "That dude is a narcissist." I be like, "Oh yeah, how so?" Then we went over this list of between 10-20 indicators, (I don't remember), and I read an in depth study she gave me, etc. The list of 4 is not enough. Just my 2 cents.

If I recall correctly the 4 qualities were distilled down from many more and the sample size of couples was massive. So apparently those 4 are the blood sucking ticks that embed themselves into a persons character so deeply that they are the least likely to go but the most likely to fell a relationship.

What about intentional deception? That should have been 1 of the 4. Some narcissists only goal in life is to intentionally make others feel worthless about themselves.

I admit, I'm very leary about psychologists. I don't want nobody getting into my head. The same goes for most theologians, hypnotists & politicians.

Well psychologists have saved me from getting my head kicked in once or twice. They save lives. I think they have a lot of value in society.

Maybe you don't need too. Cause your not likely someone who was the target of phycological, physical, financial, religious and emotional torcher or abuse and had to make sense out of things to survive it.

I'm sorry Shelly. I didn't mean to offend you. As I've aged, I've kept people that I can't fully trust (which is most people) only so close. It's a defense mechanism, from getting tricked/harmed, as I had earlier in my life. Again, I am truly sorry for upsetting you.
