The 1611 King James translation was paid for by King James and in honor of him the translators changed the name of the Apostle Jacob to James . See Strongs articles G2384 and H3290. This may seem to be insignificant but is it really? Changing the scripture, no matter how insignificant it may seem is wrong. If translators are willing to change a small thing, why not a big thing. They have indeed done both.
