Ready for Battle? (d) Prayer
Ready for Battle? (d) Prayer
Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.
To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints
Ephesians 6:18, ESV
The whole armour of God is composed of six items. Prayer may be considered a seventh. If you have the assurance that comes with wearing God’s armour, then what remains is the need to stay in communication with headquarters.
Ephesians 6:18 is surely the most comprehensive view of prayer in scripture.

Additionally, we can invite our fellow brothers to keep praying in our behalf as did Paul (Eph 6:19-20).
How can we pray at all times? “One way is to make quick, brief prayers your habitual response to every situation you meet throughout the day. Another way is to order your life around God’s desires and teachings so that your very life becomes a prayer. You don’t have to isolate yourself from other people and from daily work in order to pray constantly. You can make prayer your life and your life a prayer while living in a world that needs God’s powerful influence.” Dr. Norris D. Hall.
How do we pray “in the Spirit? It simply means praying in agreement with the Holy Spirit’s will. The Holy Spirit mingles with our regenerated spirit and intercedes for us. As the “Spirit of grace and of supplication”, the Holy Spirit continually prays for us (Zech 12:10; Rom 8:26-27). We line up our minds and desires with His mind and desires, which are consistent with the will of the Father and the Son.
