I think Lamentations is describing Judahs future punishment in the tribulation, Deuteronomy 4:30 , Jeremiah 25:17-18 , Revelation 14:10
Lamentations 5:21-22 is similar to Psalm 60:1 . Isaiah 40:2 , Jerusalem is punished double for her sins , Revelation 17:4 , Revelation 18:6 . It is mentioned in Lamentations 4:20 the murder of Christ.

Israel rebelled against God 10 times while coming out of Egypt, Numbers 14:20-23 Under the 14 Judges Israel rebelled Producing a cycle of sin and deliverance. Under the kings of Israel and Judah certain Kings rebelled against God. The Jews killed Gods son , 1 Thessalonians 2:14-15 Since Pentecost the Jews were the enemies of the gospel , Romans 11:28 , and have to this day denied Christ, 1 John 2:23 , 1 John 4:3 In the future the Jews will be allied with the antichrist. All this is why God punishes Judah with a double portion of His wrath.
