I would again , I say again, because I have already addressed this claim that Christians are under some or all of the law. Paul explains that when a covenant is made no one takes anything from it or adds anything to it. This is true of both old and new covenants. Galatians 3:15. This agrees with what Jesus said about the law. Matthew 5:17 Now in his post Walter asked for our opinions as to what Matthew 6:33 means. First the verse says “to seek first the kingdom of GOD and HIS righteousness” A question to ask is, will the law provide us with this righteousness of GOD . Well if it did then Jesus died for nothing. Galatians 2:21 The very righteousness you must have to seek the kingdom does not come by the law. How plain this is. The true righteousness cannot come through the law if it is a gift from GOD because of faith. I stressed the importance of how Abraham was imputed righteousness because of faith 400 years before GOD gave the law to Israel by Moses. Now Walter recently posted an article claiming that the law and the Sabbath were given when GOD ceased HIS work of creation. I showed that the Sabbath under the law was Israel’s rest from slavery in Egypt, Deuteronomy 5:15 , and not connected to the Sabbath in Genesis 2:3 I also showed that GOD did not make the old covenant with Israel’s fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Deuteronomy 5:3

The truth is this, none of the things that are in the new covenant were contained in the old. The law, all 613 commandments, are yet in full force today on all the unconverted world. Romans 3:19 These 613 commandments are what Jesus was referring too in Matthew 5:17 What people like Herbert W. Armstrong, William Dankenbring and a host of others have done is butcher the law. They remove parts of it while retaining others. How does this agree with what Christ said ? When I attended Armstrongs church I came to know the law very well, we all did because it was the heart of all Armstrong taught. This type of deception is extremely powerful and dangerous as it alienates us from Christ. The law was a shadow that in symbolism and rituals only hinted at the substance , the reality of what Jesus accomplished in fulfilling the law. Why continue trying to keep a law that scripture says condemns us all to death for failing to keep it? Why , if Christ fulfilled the law that we could not fulfill, would we continue trying to keep it ?
The law can only be fulfilled with agape, GODS love, that does not come by the law but as a gift of the Holy Spirit. Romans 5:5 This is the message of the gospel. All people are condemned to death because of the sin of Adam, then the law entered to make sin even more sinful, this amounts to a double death sentence, one by Adam and one by the law. GODS answer to humanities problems was Christ, a man specially created by GOD with GODS own nature of love and righteousness and if we believe that this righteous man gave his life to not only forgive us but pass us over into a new covenant that contains mercy, the ability to repent, forgiveness, justification all through the gift of GODS spirit whereas under the law you had this; Hebrews 10:28 Neither Jesus , the prophets or Apostles fulfilled the law by keeping its works but with the love of GOD that does fulfill the law. Romans 13:10 Jesus gave two great commandments based on GODS love, not the law and even said this; Mark 12:29,30,31 “no other commandment is greater than these” . The two commandments that Jesus gave us are greater that the ten commandments . GOD was responsible for all of these things and provided HIS son to accomplish what the law never could. Romans 8:3
The sad thing about all this writing I have done is that it will probably not make any difference to people bent on law keeping. However it is possible for a law keeper to see the truth and be set free from a double death sentence, I was.

I think there is something very crooked in the range of churches and in their man-made doctrines that cannot be corrected by human intervention. While we have Ten-Commandment churches on one hand, we also have everything is already forgiven in others. Repentance need not apply. This spread is marketed to those who like these extremes.
We have those who like a checklist that they can check off each day to see how holy they are. If they fail on one, the say "Sorry" and try again tomorrow. Their "sorry" may or may not be offered in seriousness - but God knows. The other end, the ones who think that no matter what they do; future sins are already forgiven, so "I'm only human" is the phrase of the day.

The most difficult path is the one where we must walk with God's Son every day - being one with Him and His Father (who is also our Father.)

I tried to do that unsuccessfully for a long time, but then; I had not been completely surrendered to God. I think it is the surrender with no checklist to mark off that puts some people off. Also, when I realized that I could do nothing in secret, and that actually became a comfort to me; that I drew closer than ever before.

The method of operation used by Satan is to deceive men and women into thinking they are pastors, preachers, teachers, evangelists, Apostles, ministers, Popes or Patriarchs and places in their carnal minds a mixture of truth and lies in various ways. These “leaders” once deceived will then deceive all under their spell authority. So we see that deceived human leaders are the problem. YAHWEH removed this problem after the death of Apostle John and today there is no human ministry therefore anyone making the claim they are is a liar.

If someone knows truth, but man has made the claim that this "truth" is false, then the one who hears and believes is guilty of placing man's words higher than God's. But, since most people are not spiritually minded or motivated, those human "teachers" continue because their students empower them.

Soon afterwards, since the number of entitled teachers far exceed those who learn from God and are able to logically explain the truth are put on the "ignore" list.

It really is the person who hears that determines whether or not one is called "teacher." Any time one speaks truth, and it is accepted, that person is the one who "taught." It may sound like semantics, but that is what happens in the mind of the one who believed. We are too lazy to write down what was said and then search the scriptures and ask God for confirmation.

As one who has believed lies, I know how easy it is to be deceived. I also know how difficult it is to admit it, and then change ourselves. I think it is so difficult, God has to do it for us.
