Luke 23:43 is another example of the improper use of commas. This verse should be; Truly I tell you today you will be with me in paradise. The commas change the meaning to indicate that the thief would be that very day with Jesus in paradise. This thief was cut down from his cross alive, had his legs broken and probably took several days to die. Jesus did not ascend to paradise until 40 days after Yahweh raised him from the dead. John 3:13 tells us that no one has ever ascended to paradise except Jesus. This verse was structured in this way to support the idea of the immortal soul and living immediately after death in heaven or hell. Changing words or phrases is not the only form of deception.

I do believe that translators insert their own theology into scripture, and therefore may change the meanings of the writings. The best tool we have to combat that corruption is to compare passages in scripture to see if the translator's version matches other passages. I need to ask you, brother, where you received the understanding that the believing thief did not die while on the crucifixion post? This is the first time that I have seen this belief presented.

Since both thieves were still alive, their legs were broken to prevent them from escaping and they were taken away to some unknown place to die. John 19:31

That is interesting, brother. In my mind, I saw the breaking of the legs as a method to put more stress on the lungs so they would die faster and be dead when taken down. Thanks for your answer.
