The English language has only the word “love “. In the Greek there are three; Agape, which is the highest type of love that only God and Jesus have. Then there is Philia love which is love toward neighbor. then there is Eros which is sexual love towards husband and wife. When people receive the Holy Spirit they are given a portion of Agape love, it is agape love that fulfills the law. Since the saints are no longer under the law the definition of sin is changed from transgression of the law to whatever is not of the love of God. Agape love is the greatest of all gifts of the Spirit and without it we are nothing. We are to grow in this love but the total perfection of this love will be realized when we enter the kingdom of God.
