Thank you Lori for posting the Daily Scripture. I really need it. This one stood out in particular because I decided to read the whole chapter and what played out in my head is as follows:

When Jesus kept saying "You have to eat my flesh and blood" at first I put myself in the disciples shoes and thought
"I probably would've looked SO perplexed (since my mind understands very literally) and I undoubtedly would've straight up asked him "What on earth are you talking about?!?! Please explain this to me as if I was 5 years old!!!"

And he did!!! As I kept reading and found my answer in verse 63: "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life."

Therefore, what I learned (and how I interpreted it) is him telling me: LISTEN TO MY WORDS, MY MESSAGE, BELIEVE IN ME, DO AS I SAY AND I WILL GRANT YOU ETERNAL LIFE.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that's the way I understood it😬 and it just clicked. Hope all are having a blessed day!

@Lady Em , to me it is more than just listening to his words and doing what Christ said. It is even more that belief in them and him. It is a genuine faith that the Father recognizes and approves of.

Christ, his entire being or spirit is the critical bread for our eternal life for all to draw from and feed upon (John 6:35 and 48).

It is the Father's gift of his Son's spiritual body for our restoration and salvation, to live the fullness of eternal life given to all true believers that He draws to Himself and his Son (John 6:65). The Father only gives this bread to all of genuine faith in his Son (John 6:64).

The food given by the Father is placed into all believers' hearts, their core being. It is the spirit of truth and life that Christ possesses that nourishes our souls, our spiritual bodies, hearts and minds. To then be continually transformed by it, everyday, into the perfect image of Christ's spirit, to become and be as he is, as the truth in immortal life, in the next life - the next age.

Great Day!

I am the bread of life John 6:48. Yes and Jesus also said: My food is to do the will of God who sent me and to finish his work John 4:34.
So it has to do with behaviour, deeds, the way we live in love and spirit and true worship.

John 6:63 is also mentioned. Indeed, the Spirit gives life... and Jesus words give Spirit and Life. Jesus says in Matt 15:17-18 that everything one eats goes to the stomach and ends up in the sewer. (When we partake it is symbolique)

In John 4 where Jesus and the Samaritan woman are talking to eachother she asks him: WHERE should we worship God? In Gerizim or Jerusalem? And Jesus says: NOT on Mount Gerizim NOR in Jerusalem.
Just meditate and think about the words he was saying there!
And then he says in John 4:23 Yet a time is coming and has now come, when the true worshippers will worship the Father is spirit and truth, for the Father is looking for such people to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit (communicates through Spirit), and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
Worship in spirit and truth. Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
He is our Mediator in every sence. So spiritually as well. Col 2:2 I want you to be encouraged and kept together by strong love. And that you will have the rich experience of knowing Christ. For God's secret, which He has finally made known, is Christ himself. 3 All the treasures of wisdom and Knowledge are hidden in him.
