The lamb of GOD. This was referring to the Passover lamb sacriced by ancient Israel on the 14th day of the first month . This lamb was symbolic of Christ. This lamb had to be perfect, Exodus 12:5 1 Peter 1:19 , having no defects. The symbolism was fulfilled in Christ. Christ said that we had to be perfect as the FATHER was perfect, Matthew 5:48 , Jesus was also perfect. This perfection meant Jesus was separate from sin, in him was no sin. Jesus had the righteous character of GOD. Hebrews 1:3 , the words “express image” is Strongs number G5481 meaning an exact copy. The word is CHARAKTER , Christ had the character of his GOD, the divine nature that we hope to have when in the kingdom. 2 Peter 1:4 GOD cannot sin, Jesus could not sin and we when in the kingdom cannot sin. Jesus demonstrated this divine nature to us as a man. This is how he revealed the FATHER. This is why Jesus said, “if you have seen me you have seen the FATHER. With this in mind and when reading all scripture about Jesus it may cause a person to reconsider things about Jesus. Strongs number G5287 indicates that this character of Christ is; steadiness, assurance, confidence, giving reality to a guarantee. GOD gave us all this in Christ by creating Jesus in HIS own divine nature the image of the invisible GOD, thus we had a messiah who could not sin taking away any doubts of our faith in him. GOD did not gamble with our salvation as HE created Christ to be the reality of HIS guarantee to us. This Jesus, the perfect lamb, would not have been perfect if he was a potential sinner as that would have been a very serious defect.
