The name God gave to Moses as a memorial is unknown. The Israelites were so concerned about breaking the third commandment that they would not speak or write the name. The name YHVH or YHWH is called the Tetragrammaton and because the Hebrew alphabet has no vowels the sounds were added when spoken then add to this the refusal to speak or write the name over the centuries the true pronunciation was lost. Jehovah or Yahweh is only a guess but I am sure that the Almighty knows who you mean when you speak it. This would also eliminate the sacred name movement which thinks you have to use the true name of God else your in trouble. The Jews today use, “Hashem” , means in English “the name”. God knows the thoughts and intents of the human spirit of all people and will accept from all languages those who call upon Him, after all it was God who confounded the languages in the first place.
