Isaiah 45:7 is a verse that some say makes GOD the creator of evil. Usually it’s the universal salvation people who use this verse to explain that man has no free will. They say GOD forces us to do evil. The word evil in this verse is the same meaning as in 1 Kings 9:9 KJV It is important to use the king James translation. The English Revised Version, New American Bible, Websters Bible and Young’s Literal all use the word evil. Strongs Concordance has a lengthy article H 7451 about this word but using the Holy Spirit is better to arrive at the meaning of evil in Isaiah 45:7 Evil in this verse clearly is used as a means of describing the punishment GOD brought on people for sin. 1 Kings 9:9 The people upon whom the punishment came saw it as an evil, a disaster, calamity, adversity, ruin as other translations render the word instead of using the word evil. GOD is not evil did not create evil and causes no human to do evil just as HE does not tempt them with evil, James 1:13 You see the lengths some people will go to in order to support a false doctrine.
