The belief of many churches is that upon death, if you have done good your immortal soul goes to heaven alive and totally conscious but if you have been evil your immortal soul goes to hell fully alive and conscious tormented forever. John 3:13 The human soul is what you are, not a third part of you. You are only two parts that make a whole, dust and breath make a soul, Genesis 2:7 . Actually this belief is the punishment for Satan and his fallen angels not humanity. According to scripture at death the human spirit or breath of life goes to heaven, to God, however the human spirit is totally inoperative as it cannot function at all apart from a body. James 2:26 .
Ecclesiastes 9:5 Scripture informs that everlasting life is a gift from God, Romans 6:23 , so why if you already have immortality do you need it as a gift from God ? Isaiah 43:10 God declares that there is no such thing as other Gods neither before or after Him. Therefore anything or anyone that people think of as a God does not exist. These gods are the product of carnal minds attempting to worship what they do not know. These are idols in the minds of people. Ezekiel 14:3 The hell of all the nonexistent gods does not exist either. No human being except Jesus has ever experienced immortality when he ascended up to his God and Father. We saints have immortality as a hope that is not realized until Jesus returns.

OUR HUMAN SPIRIT IS WHAT IMPARTS LIFE, CONSCIOUSNESS AND INTELLIGENCE, NOT THE HUMAN BRAIN. THE BRAIN IS LIKE A CONDUIT, INTERFACE OR ENCODER THAT PASSES INSTRUCTIONS FROM YOUR SPIRIT TO YOUR BODY. WHEN ADAM WAS JUST A DUST FORM ON THE GROUND NOTHING COULD HAPPEN UNTIL THAT BREATH OF LIFE CAME TO HIM , ONLY THEN DID ADAM BECOME A LIVING SOUL. THIS SPIRIT OF MAN KEEPS YOUR BODY ALIVE UNTIL SUCH TIME, BY OLD AGE, MURDER OR ACCIDENT, WHEN THE SPIRIT CAN NO LONGER KEEP THE BODY ALIVE, THEN DEATH COMES, A SEPERATION OF BODY AND SPIRIT. IT IS THE HUMAN SPIRIT THAT GIVES LIFE THE FLESH PROFITS NOTHING. IF YOUR BRAIN IS DAMAGED THE CONNECTION TO YOUR SPIRIT IS ALSO, IF YOU LOSE AN ARM OR LEG YOU EXPERIENCE PHANTOM PAIN BECAUSE THE SIGNALS FROM YOUR SPIRIT THROUGH YOUR BRAIN HAVE NOWHERE TO GO. NOW GOD HAS A SPIRIT BODY ALREADY RESERVED FOR THE SAINTS ,FOR THEIR HUMAN SPIRITS TO DWELL IN FOREVER. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:1 THE CHANGE WE ALL MUST EXPERIENCE IS TWOFOLD, ONE IS BECOMING IMMORTAL THE OTHER IMPECCABLE. IMMORTALITY IS THE CHANGE OF THE BODY, IMPECCABILITY IS THE CHANGE OF MIND. WE MUST BE IN AGREEMENT WITH GOD FOR THESE CHANGES AND DESIRE THEM ABOVE ALL ELSE.
