No preacher in any church can make you a Christian. It is God Almighty who calls and chooses people to become Christians. Acts 2:39 , Acts 2:47 . Those who are called and chosen are the elect saints, elected by God and not man. To be called and chosen is something that happens literally by surprise as it did to Paul. Paul had no idea that he was going to become a Christian and was busy killing Christians instead. All carnal people are cut off from God and condemned to death and from these people God selects or elects people to draw to his son. John 6:44 God is not calling everyone at this time, only the elected saints. It is only given to these elect to understand the mysteries of God and His kingdom. Matthew 13:11 All other people must wait till God is ready to call and choose them; some during the tribulation called the innumerable multitude, then in the millennium all people will have the Holy Spirit and finally the second resurrection. God is not being a respecter of persons to only call a very few in this age but Paul explains how those who are the elect are viewed by God. 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 . Jesus confirms that God is the one who teaches the saints, not men, and God does this through Jesus the mediator. John 6:45 When I was called it was a huge surprise that I had no idea was going to happen. It was like a bolt out of the blue where my mind began to see Gods truth which exposed the lies of the church I was in at the time, the Worldwide Church of God. I answered Gods call but many people who are called do not answer and therefore will not be chosen. Matthew 22:14 , Matthew 22:2-3, Matthew 7:13-14 The parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1-13 Is symbolic of the Philadelphia and Laodicea churches. Those who were wise and had oil in their lamps, symbolic for the Holy Spirit, went in with the bride groom but the foolish came late because the had to go buy oil, be put through the fire of the great tribulation and be martyred because they were neither cold or hot. Notice the door was shut when the foolish arrived but in Revelation 3:8 an open door is for the Philadelphia church. Jesus will during the tribulation knock on the door of the minds, the human spirits of the Laodiceans and those who open to him will be raised from the dead in the first resurrection along with all the saints who are dead at that time. The idea of the vast majority of people is that they choose God and Jesus and the church they attend but they can choose nothing and what they have chosen is nothing. Give your heart to the Lord they say, invite Jesus into your life. You cannot do this because God controls the entire process of becoming a Christian.
