Have you heard or seen the letters GOTV? It means Get Out The Vote. But what about GOTW? Get Out The Word, i.e., the good news word/message that the Kingdom of God is coming soon; which means peace on earth and goodwill towards all men, as the angels proclaimed at the virgin birth.
Now there are some scholars out there who might help you get out this word about the KOG, since they sometimes happen to stumble upon the truth. For example, Australian scholar Michael Bird in his book The Gospel of the Lord found that Paul’s few scattered references to “kingdom” suggests that it was a virtual abbreviation for the work that he was doing. Dr. Bird quotes from Col 4 where Paul mentions some Jews who were "my only fellow workers for the kingdom of God."
But for Paul the kingdom is something still to be entered into or inherited in the future. For example in 1Cor 6:9-10 Paul says:
Do you not know that bad people will not inherit the Kingdom of God?
Don't be fooled.
These are people who are sexually immoral, who have idols, who steal, who speak bad to others, who drink too much alcohol, or use bad language.
In 1Thess 2 Paul adds:
10 You are witnesses, and so is God, as to how holy and righteous and blameless our conduct was toward you who believe.
11 As you know, we treated each one of you as a father treats his own children, 12 exhorting and encouraging you and insisting that you live in a way worthy of God who calls you to his own kingdom and his glory.
So continue to Get Out The real Vote for that Word about the coming KOG on earth. Because let's face it, in the end, this will be the only vote that will ever count!
