Isaiah 60

1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the Lord.

7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.

8 Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

9 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the Lord thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.

10 And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.

11 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.

12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

13 The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

14 The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee; The city of the Lord, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

15 Whereas thou has been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.

18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

22 A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in his time.

1 Peter 2

Desire Sincere Milk Of The Word

1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

Offer Up Spiritual Sacrifices

4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,

5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Abstain From Fleshly Lusts

11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Submission To The Government

13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;

14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

Submission In Business

18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.

19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

Dear Walter and Debbie,

While I can read the passages you post, I see you seldom say anything about your thoughts over the the things you copy and paste. I may be a bit obtuse, but my interest is in the point you are attempting to make.

Would you like to present your views on the scripture you present? Sharing our views is where the education starts for me, anyway. We can all read, and I imagine we all have bibles (I gave up the King James version in my college years.)

I have a question about this line:

16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
Would you tell me what you think the writer's point here is?

Also note that 1st Peter seems to be addressed to infant Christians:

2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

I think that many hear are beyond living simply on milk. I believe that we should consider what the Apostle Paul wrote the church at Corinth. As for what you presented, I am interested in your passages when compared to the following:

1 Co 3:1–3 But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh.

I'd like to know your thoughts here, please.

Yes Walter I agree with Outcast. We should be able to give an answer for the hope that is in us. What is your answer. You have been extremely vague and this makes it difficult to see where you stand.

Well, sir, I can read scriptures myself as I have a lot of them in my library. I just thought that you had a purpose behind the pasting of scripture here that would contribute to creating a discussion. Based on your response, shall I assume that you are not here for discussions?

Good morning Outcast, Well, is there enough time for what you are talking about, I would say yes, and there is a place, isn't it, But we have also learned always to seek the kingdom first, as we can see you are doing, but I wonder is what we are doing is pleasing in His sight, Brother what do you think?

Hello to both of you. I have been seeking the Kingdom for a long time now, and I have sought righteousness for years also. Of course, waiting on Yahweh through Yeshua to help me with the scriptures is a task in itself, as I had learned that many things I was taught by man were not according to the truth.

Yes, I am certain that God called me out of the corrupted church so that I may seek Him more than I used to follow man. My desire is that my convictions come from the spirit of God.

This forum is a place where thoughts should be shared and the communications should be humble since I believe that we are here to discover the things we had not considered in the past. Sadly, I wasted a lot of years learning what man would teach, only to have to go back and start over in my search for truth. Now I read, I research, and I ask God for the convictions that give me assurance of the truth. God has given me some, and I await the others according to His plan.

When I find passages that appear to conflict with each other, I ask the person who posted them to show what his or her thoughts are. I am certain that having and comparing thoughts is not a sin.

Are we all here with the same purpose?

I am here because I desire to share with others what GOD has taught me and listen to others about what GOD has taught them. Everyone here is here because they found out that the church they were in was false and are here seeking fellowship with others having similar experiences. We are to compare our beliefs or doctrines with what the scripture declares. The most important thing of all is to go to GOD in a humble and repentant attitude confessing our ignorance and asking for HIS guidance and teaching that we know will not be a lie. We must totally abandon men as teachers and leaders and only acknowledge GOD and Christ as teacher and leader. Men are Satans main tool for deception, eliminating them eliminates deception.

What Walter and all people do not understand is that if they have a man or woman that they esteem as a teacher and leader then they are deceived. There is only one teacher, YAHWEH and one mediator Yeshua. Any man or woman that is perceived to be in these roles is a liar and a minister of Satan coming as and angel of light but in reality is darkness. 2 Corinthians 11:13,14,15 The work of these deceivers has over the centuries since Jesus and the Apostles created all the spiritual confusion and chaos we see in what falsely is called Christianity.
These false ministers are in actuality the false gods people worship because when people submit to them they cannot submit to YAHWEH.

Yes, Brother and I do at times.
