Ecclesiastes 12:7 , Luke 23:46 , Acts 7:59 When the union of dust and breath is broken this is death. The body returns to dust but your human spirit goes back to God. Ecclesiastes 9:1-6 , It does not matter if you are righteous or wicked all die and the spirits of all go back to God. These verses also make clear that these spirits have no consciousness or work of any kind. They all await a resurrection from the dead either first or second. The soul is a human being, it is the sum of dust and breath. Only the breath or spirit in man is of salvation value to God. It is the SPIRITS OF JUST MEN THAT ARE MADE PERFECT. The fleshly body is replaced with a spirit body in the first resurrection. The second resurrection is to physical life again where the first opportunity for salvation is given. Human spirits must have a body to be alive and conscious, this is proven fact. The physical body is not immortal and is not glorified in the first resurrection. The physical body sees corruption, it is perishable and does not inherit the imperishable. 1 Corinthians 15:50 Prior to being raised from the dead these spirits will be sealed in righteousness and participate in the divine nature. 2 Peter 1:4 This is when you enter the kingdom of God, this is when you become immortal and impeccable.
