The Dutch committee against the shunning policy of Jehovah's witnesses wants to challenge the shunning because of its discriminatory nature. Shunning stands for the social death of ex-members. That means that one no longer exists for friends and family.

Petition
We
Ex-Jehovah's witnesses, critical members and others who declare their solidarity.

observe
That the shunning policy at the Christian congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in the Netherlands is discriminatory.
And so that shunning policy is in conflict with the intended 'horizontal effect' (between citizens) of Article 1 of the Dutch constitution.

and requests
to urgently look for ways to prohibit by law the discriminatory shunning policy of the Christian congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. And if necessary, even amend the law for this.
