I am assuming that it is commonly accepted that Jesus died and was resurrected in 33 A.D., or within a few years of this year, and that there have been almost 2000 years since Jesus' death and resurrection. However, there are at least two verses in the Bible that I feel should make one at least question how long it has been since Jesus was on Earth.
Daniel 8:26 (KJV)
[26] And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.
Revelation 22:10 (KJV)
[10] And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
What is interesting is that Daniel was told by the angel Gabriel to seal up the vision that was revealed to him, which was concerning the last few earthly kingdoms and the antichrist, because it shall be for 'many days'.
In Revelation 22:10, John is told by the angel not to seal up the sayings of the prophecy of the Book of Revelation. Since this is so, then how can it be close to 2000 years since Jesus was on Earth when John was told to not to seal up the sayings of the prophecy, with the assumption that Revelation was written in the first century, yet it was only over 400 years before the birth of Jesus that Gabriel told Daniel to seal up the vision revealed to him?
I would like to add that I am not a preterist and I believe that there are still multiple prophecies in the Bible that need to be fulfilled, including most in the Book of Revelation.
