What do people mean when they say, I am saved ? Saved means you have salvation. Well, you have the hope of salvation but it is a yet future event. People seem to confuse conversation with salvation. Conversion puts you on that straight and narrow way but salvation is at the end of the road. John 6:68 , Matthew 24:13 , Matthew 10:22 , Mark 13:13 , Hebrews 10:36 So those who believe in once saved always saved think being baptized produces salvation when it begins a process that prepares you for it . Even if they understand this, it is still possible to commit the unpardonable sin and lose the opportunity of salvation permanently.
Salvation becomes reality when Jesus returns and you are changed if alive or resurrected and changed if dead; changed into an immortal impeccable spirit being. So, when I hear someone tell me they are saved they are saying that they are no longer a soul but a spirit being. It is obvious that those who make this claim do not understand what salvation is. Salvation is not to save you from the first temporary death for all die because they are mortal. Salvation is to keep you from the second permanent death. Revelation 20:6
