After the fall of the Roman Empire in the west the papacy established the title Holy Roman Emperor as a revival of the imperial Roman state. In 800 AD Pope Leo III crowned Charlemagne as the first Holy Roman Emperor. It is disputed as to when this title was finally abandoned by the historians but there is evidence that it lasted until 1922. Great Britains king never held this title because King Henry VIII rejected Rome because the Pope refused to give him a divorce from Catherine so that he could marry Anne Boleyn. Henry formed the Church of England in 1509. The remaining Holy Roman Emperors came from Germanic leaders, the German word “Kaiser” in English is “Caesar”. This information explains the influence of Rome being carried on even after the fall of the empire through the Popes Holy Roman Emperors. The nation selected by the Pope was the most powerful in its day and had to be a Catholic nation. Sometime around the First World War the title disappeared completely. This ended the reign of the sixth king in the book of Revelation, the one John said, “one is” . Revelation 17:10 The next king, the seventh, would arise after the First World War and remains for only a little while. This nation would have to be the most powerful nation on earth but compared to the previous would last a short time. That nation is the U.S.A. and those with eyes to see will know that it is on its way out so that the eighth king can rise. Revelation 17:11 . This is the kingdom of the antichrist and in the past was one of the previous seven. Revelation 17:8 , a nation that was, is no more but returns again. There are clues in scripture to identify this eighth king.
