The ten tribes of Israel disappeared from history and probably were absorbed into other cultures. What this would mean is that the modern nation of Israel is in reality Judah , Isaiah 48:1 There were a few people from other tribes like Benjamin, Levi and Asher but most were of Judah. God brought back the Jews to the land so that the prophecy of Jesus being born in Bethlehem could be fulfilled.
