Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good.

Ever wonder about the effect of these instructions on a society that votes for those who are supposed to serve the population rather than to rule them?

The U.S. was to be unique in that government was to be of, by and for the people. Things got flipped along the way, it is no long government by the consent of the governed but government by the government. Elected officials are to obey those who elected them. The vote they carry to Washington is not theirs but today it is. The current events testify to this.

The horrible behavior of our "elected representatives" is largely due to the mechanism of compromise. The fly in that ointment is that they are willing to compromise our rights. They also have no respect for our wages, and failed to understand that other countries have a responsibility for self control and independence. We stupidly want to swoop in with OPM (other people's money) and play Santa Claus to buy friends. Those elected officials no longer serve "to punish those who do evil or praise those who do good." The only people who profit mightily under our government now are those same officials. Rome is back.

Satan is the god of this age who Is also the prince of the power of the air or spirits of darkness in high places. These evil spirits are able to influence the human spirit/mind and actually possess the mind. They inspire evil thoughts by which men are enticed to lust for that which is not good. Paul was concerned about this very thing among the Corinth church, 2 Corinthians 11:3 , Jesus describes the carnal man, John 8:44 This has existed since Eden, 1 John 5:19 , We , the saints, are not helpless , 2 Corinthians 2:11 , 1 John 4:4 All nations in all of time have experienced the effects of Satan.
