He was fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy. Mary conceived by the Holy Spirit and had a son by the Holy Spirit who was the Father of Jesus. Since the triune God is composed of three distinct but not separate co equal hypotheses Jesus was God in the flesh, Father, Son and Holy Spirit in the flesh, otherwise Jesus could not be God. Remember distinct but never separate otherwise it would violate monotheism. Jesus never emptied himself or ceased being God because that would make only a binary rather than triune God. Many times in the gospels and letters of the Apostles Jesus is called God. The Apostles vigorously taught the trinity. People all over the known world of Christianity knew Jesus was God but after some years passed many forgot so the primitive Catholic Church convened a council of Bishops in Nice to again remind and enforce this almost lost truth that God became a man and died for the sins of all humanity.
